Asin’s still grounded
Not too many newcomers can boast of films opposite the two biggest Khans at the very start of their careers. But Asin is an exception. After making a fine debut with Ghajini opposite Aamir, she has worked with Salman in London Dreams and Ready. But despite the big ticket entry into Bollywood, she insists she has her feet firmly on the ground. “I have been in the South film industry for many years and have seen many highs and lows. I’m not easily swayed by successes and failures,” she says.
Delving deeper into this level headedness, Asin reveals, “I am very secure as an actress and as a person. I focus on my career; that’s where my priorities lie. Because I don’t waste my energies on other people, I don’t even react to the rumours that do the rounds,” she adds.
And as she basks in the success of Ready, she can already look forward to another big ticket film, Housefull 2 opposite Akshay Kumar. “I don’t want to belong to any camp, as Bollywood is a national platform. People have similar thoughts and circle of friends. I am blessed to be working with them,” she states.
