There’s been quite a bit of speculation over who will be cast opposite Akshay Kumar in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gabbar, and no details are forthcoming from the film’s team.
However, a little birdie who is close to Sanjay and Akki cooed that the men have been looking down South for a maiden to star in their venture. Apparently, actress Amala Paul is being considered for at least an “important role” in Gabbar — if not that of the female lead.
“If everything works out, this could just be Amala’s big launch in Bollywood,” our source chirped. “Interestingly, the names of the actress’ counterparts like Shruti Haasan and Ileana D’cruz have also been doing the rounds for a while now, in relation to the same project, but for now, Amala seems to be leading the race.”
