Anees lashes out at critics

Ready is en route to becoming a blockbuster, netting close to `70 crores in the first week itself. Many are now speculating `100 crores which will make the film amongst the top money-spinners in Bollywood, after the likes of 3 Idiots and Dabangg.

Director Anees Bazmee couldn’t be happier because he was desperate for a hit, after his last two outings No Problem and Thank You tanked at the box office. The director, who was being questioned and criticised for his repetitive style and content, is glad that he can give back to his critics at last.
“How many out there really know the nitty-gritties of filmmaking? I don’t want to sound immodest as I know that I’m too small when compared to legendary filmmakers like Raj Kapoor and Mehboob Khan. But didn’t they deliver a few occasional flops as well? What still made them big is the fact that they delivered more hits which earned them a loyal audience. I too wish to follow in the same path even if that means a couple of flops down the road,” lashes out the director. — JT
