All set to impress with ‘common man’ act
Akshay Kumar has proved to be a bankable star time and again. And going by the much appreciated promos of his next venture Khatta Meetha, looks like another hit is soon in the offing.
This movie, directed by comedy ace Priyadarshan, is reportedly the lowest budget film that Akshay has ever signed.
Insiders tell us, “Khatta Meetha was completed in Rs 30 crores and it is a relatively smaller budget as compared to Akshay’s usual fare. But going by his track record, the makers are bound to recover costs in the opening weekend itself.
Khatta Meetha is largely a political satire on the municipal and construction dealings in India portrayed by the happenings in the life of a character called Sachin Tichkule. The narrative aims at highlighting and revealing the various facets and levels of bribing and crooked tricks required for a common man to survive the system.
Those who have already seen the film believe that this is Akshay Kumar’s most impressive performance till date. “Akshay’s role, sketched on R.K. Laxman’s character, is his finest performance yet. He plays a middle class simpleton — a common man caught in an uncommon situation,” says a trade analyst.
He further adds, “Audiences are used to Akshay Kumar, the entertainer. With Khatta Meetha they will witness Akshay the performer”.
