Akshay turns spiritual
He did have a few steep falls last year but Akshay Kumar has put all that behind with the success of Housefull and Rowdy Rathore. “You can’t expect all your films to be box office hits. I have seen the best time in my career, so the so-called rough patch didn’t bother me,” he says. Now the actor who is all set with his next home production Oh My God confesses to being a God-fearing person himself. Decades of experience in Bollywood have made him more aware of the fact that success and failure are transitory. Akshay says he has become more spiritual in the recent years. “Yes, there was a time when I believed in rituals — I’d fly to Vaishnodevi once every month. The entire procedure would cost me about `3–4 lakhs. Then came a time when I realised that I should rather donate that amount to a trust than spend it on myself. That would be greater worship,” he says.
Charitable thoughts aside, Akshay is a pragmatic businessman as well. “I am working with a new team in my production house. I have realised that working with a team that honours commitment and dedication is half the battle won.”
Let’s hope his Godly avatar produces a box office miracle this time.
