Akshay adept at flicking stuff
Akshay Kumar may be playing a con man in Tees Maar Khan, but few know that the actor is adept at flicking a watch or a chain without the person getting to know. Explaining his knack for doing so, the actor laughs and says, “It’s something I have learnt because of my martial arts. We know where to touch a person’s nerve and
make it numb. I have not learnt the trick from any master. And though I play a con man who wants to rob a train full of artefacts, I don’t go about robbing trains in life,” he jokes.
The actor, who was present at the music launch of the film, which was held on a train especially booked for the event said that he was travelling on a train after 22 years. “I was so excited when I got into the train that I went up and slept on the berth for five minutes to recall the feeling. The colours of the trains have changed now, earlier they were blue in colour. Now I travel by planes and I miss the journey of a train,” he informs.
Reminiscing about his early journeys by trains, the actor says, “I was around 14 years old when I first came to Mumbai by train. We used to travel by Frontier Mail, I was living in Delhi. I shopped in Mumbai at Fashion street and I bought clothes worth `650. While going back our train passed Chambal and dacoits raided our train and robbed us of our clothes and things. I was very scared. I put my head under my blanket and slept quietly watching them take away my precious shopping. Tears were flowing down my eyes, but I could do nothing. They even took away my chappals and I had to go home barefoot.”
