Akki’s pitch perfect

While the whole world is suffering from football fever, it’s cricket that has Akshay Kumar excited these days. In his forthcoming film Patiala House, Akki is sharing screen space with some real life cricketing legends and the actor is bowled over by the opportunity.
In the film, Akki plays the role of a British Sikh bowler from Southall who dreams of playing for the English team. A host of cricketers have been roped in for the movie, including retired and active cricketers like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, John Emburey, Graham Gooch and Nasser Hussain. Besides, Akki is also being trained by former Test bowler Paras Mhambrey.
The actor recently said that he was “living every cricket fan’s dream, having a ball of a time shooting at the Trent Bridge, Lords and the Oval”.
Akki also said, “Shooting with the big guys (or should I say living legends) of the cricket world...hope it all looks as exciting on screen.”
A source on the sets said, “Akshay has picked up bowling so well that it is hard to believe that he has only been practicing for a few weeks.” Patiala House also features Anushka Sharma.
