Abhi and Bips to say dum maro dum
After their successful collaboration on Bluffmaster, Abhishek Bachchan and Rohan Sippy have come together to work on Dum Maro Dum. The film, a joint venture with Fox Star Studios, is slated for a February 2011 release. Abhishek plays a cop in the film.
The first schedule of the film has been completed in Goa and the second schedule will begin in June this year. “The film is shaping up very well and we are going to give the audience a gripping, moving film with great visual appeal,” said Sippy.
Dum Maro Dum will also star Bipasha Basu, Rana Daggubati, Pratiek Babbar and Aditya Panscholi. The film, written by Shridhar Raghavan, races through the bylanes, beach shacks and raves of Goa. The soundtrack is said to have everything from haunting Konkani songs to pulsating dance numbers.
“We are hugely excited about Dum Maro Dum as it has a great script, it’s vibrant and contemporary and we expect the film to appeal to a wide audience. The February release is perfect as it is strategically timed just before the cricket World Cup,” said Vijay Singh, Fox Star Studios CEO.
With all the hype, let’s hope Dum Maro Dum does keep us on the edge of our seats!
