An Aamir in the making?
Prateik Babbar seems a little too inspired by his mentor Aamir Khan. After working on two successful films with the ace Khan, the latter’s selectiveness seems to be rubbing off Prateik. Apparently, after the rave reviews he garnered for Dhobi Ghaat, Prateik has become selective about his roles. Sources say, “He wants to live up to the DG image, and not make any move that would cost him his reputation.”
Recently, a small-time filmmaker approached Prateik with the role of a male stripper, which the actor promptly turned down. The film was based on a true story about a real stripper, and Prateik was being offered good money too. But he doesn’t seem the type that can be lured with money. “After DG, Prateik has been seeking Aamir’s advice on the kind of projects he should take up. He wants to maintain a certain finesse about his roles and he doesn’t care for money,” adds the source. Currently, the actor is shooting for Prakash Jha’s Arakshan in Bhopal, while looking forward to the release of Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum.
