Aamir’s perfection inspires Prateik
Unlike most films which love the public glare, Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghaat has been shot in absolute secrecy. Little is known about this film. Though some pieces of information have leaked out — like the fact that Aamir plays a painter in the film. Our source said, “Aamir’s character has been highly inspired by Leonardo Di Caprio’s character in Titanic. Di Caprio was seen painting Kate Winslet in the film. Likewise, Aamir is shown having a flair for painting women’s portraits in the film.”
But what few know is that the young Prateik Babbar, who has a major role in the film, seems to be inspired by Aamir’s perfectionist ways. He plays a dhobi in the film, so, to master the art of washing clothes, the actor frequented the actual dhobi ghaat at Mahalakshmi in Mumbai to watch how the dhobis wash their clothes. His role is that of someone doing menial jobs while aspiring to be an actor.
