This ‘luv story’ makes Sameer smile

Sameer Soni is a happy man. He has not stopped smiling ever since I Hate Luv Storys has been a box office hit and he surely has more reasons than that. The greater buzz has been about his relationship with actress Neelam.
When asked about it Sameer says coyly, “Yes, there has been a buzz about my relationship with Neelam and I heard that we are getting married soon. Ever since the news has appeared my parents are overjoyed. They are celebrating. But Neelam and I haven’t discussed marriage as yet. We have no dates as of now. Hope everything goes fine. Things will happen when they are meant to happen. Currently, I am looking forward to my career and Neelam is busy with her jewellery designing.”
Coming back to I Hate Luv Storys, Sameer has played the role of a passionate filmmaker in the movie and has also received a lot of critical appreciation. “I am happy to be part of a successful film,” says Sameer.
“But more than that, I am glad I made the right choices with films. Be it Baghbaan, Vivah, Fashion or I Hate Luv Storys. I am getting a lot of good work and along with it appreciation too,” he adds.
According to reports, Sameer’s role has been etched on producer-director Karan Johar. Sameer smiles and says, “Yes, I have heard that too, but I have not imitated anyone in the movie. When I met director Punit Malhotra, I found him to be a passionate filmmaker. I was nowhere performing any character or aping anyone. The brief given to me was performance based. I loved the role then and there.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
