Woman kills 2 daughters, ends life
A 26-year-old woman, who was dejected as she was unable to recover from her illness, committed suicide after killing her two daughters, including a two-month-old child. Police identified the deceased as Radha and her daughters Yamuna (4) and Yashodha (two months).
Radha committed suicide by hanging after allegedly killing her two daughters by strangulating them with a towel at their house in Somedevanahalli in Solur hobli of Ramanagaram district. Radha was said to have been getting stomach pain regularly due to uterus-related problems and the pain increased after she gave birth to her second child two months back.
A native of Gopal Nagar near Ramohalli, Radha was married to Doddahonappa of Somedevanahalli five years ago. During her first pregnancy, it is said that Radha had some complications and her first daughter had to be delivered through C-section in a Bengaluru hospital. The doctors had advised her not to bear a second child for at least four years as she had to recover from the problem.
Even during her second delivery, Radha had severe complications and became anemic and was advised a complete bed rest for 10 months. Her husband was working at a gas plant near Solur and Radha, despite being advised to take rest, was taking care of all household chores.
On Friday afternoon, the couple had lunch together and Doddahonappa later left for work. After her husband left, Radha took the extreme step, police said.
“We have learnt that her husband was getting a paltry salary and had incurred huge debts for Radha's medical treatment. She may have been even upset over these issues and has taken the extreme step. The bodies were handed over after autopsy at the Magadi government hospital”, the Kudur police, who have registered a case, added.
