Wife lodges plaint, ‘Mental Manja’ held

A Kannada movie actor, Arjun, who was allegedly harassing his wife for dowry, was arrested in Peenya on Tuesday night. Unable to take the harassment anymore, his wife, Lathasri, had shifted to her parents’ apartment in MEA-MVT Layout near Hessarghatta Circle in Peenya from the actor’s HSR Layout house.

On Tuesday night, Arjun went to her apartment with two friends and created a scene. He abused Lathashri and demanded dowry from her parents. He and his friends picked up a fight and assaulted security guard Chandappa. The police said that the actor was drunk. All the three were arrested after Lathashri and the security guard filed complaints with the Peenya police. The couple, married for the last 11 years, fought over trivial issues. Their fights had even reached police stations, though no formal complaints had been lodged. The couple has two daughters. Among the film fraternity, he is called Mental Manja as his debut film by the same name was a hit. He has also acted in Moorane Class Manja BCom Bhagya, Premanagari and other movies. He is currently shooting for Auto Manja.
