Teenager, Rowdy hacked to death
Two people, including a rowdy, were murdered in two separate incidents in the city since Friday night.
In Mahalakshmi Layout, Karthik (21), a resident of Kurubarahalli, was chased and stabbed to death by three assailants around 9 am. The assailants had covered their faces with monkey caps. The assailants chased and stabbed Karthik. The rowdy stumbled, but managed to run for a distance before falling on the road again. The rivals then crushed his head with a stone, the police said.
The assailants threatened some of the shopkeepers, who tried to down the shutters, and told them to watch the “show”.
Karthik had come out of jail a few months ago, but had returned to his old ways. The police, who had kept a watch on him, were planning to take him into preventive custody.
In another incident, 17-year-old Chandrashekar, a resident of Bilekahalli, was chased and hacked to death by his friends-turned-foes on Bannerghatta Road.
Chandrashekar, who works at a garage, was returning home from work on Friday night when he was attacked near at Doreswamy Palya. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he died early on Saturday. The police said he had developed enmity with Puneeth and Babu, over sharing
the money collected during the Ganesha festival, the police said.
