Sree prefers Gadag to Bellary?
With general elections to the state Assembly just a year away, the BSR Party led by Independent MLA B. Sreeramulu is planning its political debut. Sources said that Sreeramulu may shift from Bellary Rural seat which he contested and won as an Independent last year, to Gadag constituency in the next Assembly election.
As BSR party is banking heavily on the backward Mumbai and Hyderabad Karnataka districts and SC/ST reserved constituencies, Sreeramulu may be able to strike an emotional chord with people of the region and also ensure the success of other BSR party candidates. “Winning from a ST constituency in his home district will not help portray him as a tall leader. If he contests from a Central Karnataka district like Bellary or Chitradurga, he can easily win as his Valmiki community is dominant in both districts”, said sources.
