Sree begins fast for N. Karnataka
Former minister, turned independent MLA, B Sreeramulu, who began his two-day fast in Gadag on Tuesday ostensibly to draw attention to the lack of development of North Karnataka, began to feel tired just a few hours into the protest and doctors attending to him explained he was diabetic and had low blood pressure .
Mr Sreeramulu first performed a puja at the Panchakshari Gawai Mutt and offered prayers at the CSI church and Jamia Masjid before leading a mammoth procession of decorated bullock-carts from Tontadarya Mutt to the Vidyadan Samithi ground. Accompanied by Bellary MP, J Shantha, Raichur MP Sanna Fikkirappa, legislators Somashekhar Reddy, Suresh Babu, and actor Rakshita , he was greeted by supporters performing an ‘Urulu Seve’ at the venue. Several intellectuals and litterateurs spoke on the problems of the people of north Karnataka.
