Shocked Gowdas maintain silence

The glimmer of hope family members of D.V. Sadananda Gowda staying at Mandekolu village had, was shattered on Sunday afternoon when Gowda announced his resignation.

Gowda’s 83-year-old mother, Kamala, brother Bhaskar Gowda and other family members who were hoping that DVS would be allowed to continue, were grief stricken but the family has preferred to keep its disappointment under wraps, said sources.

The ancestral house of DVS is situated at Mandekolu village in Sullia taluk.

A year ago, the family was celebrating when DVS was chosen Chief Minister.

“We hoped that he will complete his term. But this did not happen due to some reason. We are happy with the manner in which he has carried himself. Being a disciplined party worker, my brother has resigned from the CM post as per the wishes of the high command,” Bhaskar said after hearing about his brother’s resignation.
