Shaken CM to visit drought hit
The taunt by former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa that video-conferences will hardly help solve the problems of the drought-hit, seems to have had an effect on CM Sadananda Gowda.A day after Yeddyurappa made the stinging remarks on the inept handling of the drought situation, Mr Gowda announced that he will soon visit the drought-affected areas. On Tuesday, the CM had held a video conference of all district deputy commissioners and Chief Executive Officers(CEOs)) to review the drought situation. The Opposition parties had attacked the government for holding review meetings in ‘air-conditioned rooms instead of ministers visiting the districts and releasing funds’ soon.
