Realtor may bring trouble for Sree

With Hyderabad realtor, R. Surya Prakash Babu, a key accused in the cash- for- bail scam, turning approver, the noose could tighten around BSR Congress president, B Sreeramulu and his nephew, Kampli MLA T H Suresh Babu being investigated by the Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Andhra Pradesh for their role in the affair. Mr Surya Prakash was the first accused to be granted bail by the ACB special court in Hyderabad on August 21 and his turning approver could make the entire ACB case water tight and prove particularly, prove costly for Mr Sreeramulu, against whom the bureau reportedly does not yet have strong evidence, according to sources.

“Surya Prakash turning approver could be a major blow to Sreeramulu, as he is the only one to have named him besides Suresh Babu, in his confession to the ACB. Suresh Babu has already disowned his confession saying that he had given it under pressure from the ACB sleuths," sources add.

Mr Suresh Babu had said in his confession that on the evening of April 21 his uncle, B. Sreeramulu, had informed him that one R. Suryaprakash Babu of Hyderabad knew some judges and was ready to help in the matter of securing bail for former minster Gali Janardhan Reddy. Suspended judge, K Lakshmi Narasimha Rao has reportedly confessed that Mr Suryaprakash Babu had made an offer of Rs. 10 crore to get Mr Janardhan Reddy out on bail. Meanwhile the ACB is learnt to have issued a Prisoner Transit Warrant for the former minister lodged in the Parappana Agrahara prison to summon him to its offices in Hyderabad for questioning.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
