Peeved BSY to keep off party affairs
After having waited for an appropriate opportunity to strike at his opponents, former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has dashed off a letter to party national president Nitin Gadkari blaming Chief Minister D.V. Sadanada Gowda, party state president K.S. Eshwarappa and party national general secretary Ananth Kumar for their ‘well-planned conspiracy’ to oust him from the party. “Due to the continuous humiliation meted out by these three leaders, I have decided to distance myself from party activities”, Mr Yeddyurappa stated.
The former CM also took strong exception to Mr Eshwarappa’s statement that the BJP government was formed using money and muscle power to lure opposition party MLAs, while asking Mr Gadkari to take note of the ‘anti-party statement’ of the state party chief. “The statement of state party president during the Council election campaign in Koppal has sent a wrong message among party workers and the public about the BJP government. The opposition MLAs joined BJP in 2008 to give a stable government in the state. They have accepted the party’s principles and joined BJP”, Mr Yeddyurappa said in his letter.
Mr Yeddyurappa has also complained against the Chief Minister for his recent statement at a Vokkaliga convention. “While participating in the Vokkaliga convention, Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said that he became Chief Minister due to the community’s support. He must have forgotten the day how he became CM. His statement hurt me lot as he was chosen over the official candidate Mr Jagadish Shettar. But his statement has sent a wrong message among party workers”, Mr Yeddyurappa stated.
The former CM has also took strong exception to his bête noire Ananth Kumar’s alleged ‘interference’ in the party affairs in the state. “Mr Kumar has been instigating the Chief Minister and party state chief to make statement against me”, Mr Yeddyurappa stated.
