Now, it’s Revanna’s turn to taunt Siddu
A couple of days after his brother H.D. Kumaraswamy slammed Opposition leader Siddaramaiah for allegedly going soft on the BJP, it was the turn of his brother H.D. Revanna to hit out at the Kuruba leader.
Throwing the gauntlet down to Siddaramaiah, Revanna who is facing charges in a land denotification case, challenged the Congress leader to fulfill his promise of setting up a special Lokayukta court to try all these cases. “Siddaramaiah was JD(S) state president in 2004 and had prepared an election manifesto which said such a special court would be set up if the JD(S) came to power. Now that he is in a national party and leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, he should use his good offices to set up the court. The ruling BJP should also strive to do this. I will raise the issue in the Assembly session,” said Revanna.
He said he was prepared to quit politics if the denotification charges against him are proved. “I handled the PWD and energy portfolios when I was minister, how could I have signed letters to denotify land?” he asked. Defending his brother H.D. Kumaraswamy who has been chargesheeted by the Lokayukta in a land denotification case, Revanna brushed it aside saying that earlier too, governments had tried to frame the Deve Gowda family. When asked if Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda was extending favour to JD(S) leaders and his family, he replied, “We have never gone to Sadananda Gowda’s doorstep seeking favours. Deve Gowda and his sons have never done this and will not do so in future too.”
