New Ayukta: State to consult SC
To get a proper clarification on the ‘consultation process,’ to be followed while appointing the Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta, the state government has decided to knock the doors of the Apex Court.
Speaking to reporters during his one-day visit to Dakshina Kannada district, Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda said it was time the Supreme Court clarified the exact meaning of the ‘consultation process,’ as per section 3 of the Lokayukta Act- 1984. “The draft of the appeal is ready and will be submitted shortly to the Court. A final word from the Apex Court will solve the issue,” Mr Gowda said.
The CM also declared that all pending ration cards will be distributed by May end. Speaking about his dream project, “Sakala,” the CM said the number of services would be increased from 151 to 200.
