Murder mystery solved, 4 held
The Subramanyapura police claim to have arrested four persons and solved the murder of a 25-year-old man at Thali in Tamil Nadu.
The police arrested the four, while they were conspiring to rob passersby on the Narayananagar Double Road. The accused confessed to committing the murder on October 23 during the police interrogation.
The arrested are: Umesh alias Ummi (26), Madappa alias Maadha (22), both residents of KS Layout, Manu Kumar alias Cycle (22), of Ramnagar and Chethan Kumar alias Chethan (22) of Yelechenahalli on Kanakapura Road.
The accused told the police that they killed 25-year-old Vinayak alias Shastri, a resident of Doddakallasandra, over old enmity. They dragged Vinayak into their Tata Indica car near the Gangadhareshwara temple in J.P. Nagar. They drove to Yelachawadi village in Ramanagaram and killed Vinayak inside the car by strangulating him with a towel. They took the body to the Thali forest, dumped it into a trench dug to prevent elephants from entering the surrounding villages and burnt it. The Thali police, who had registered a murder case, were looking for the accused, the police said. The police recovered a car and lethal weapons from them.
