MS Building may house Ayukta court

After nearly a month, the Lokayukta institution has moved a proposal to shift the Lokayukta special court to the Multi-Storeyed (MS) Building. The proposal states that since hundreds of witnesses are finding it difficult to travel all the way up to Parappana Agrahara prison premises, and for the convenience of the advocates and investigating officials, it could be shifted to the third floor of the Lokayukta office building. The proposal has reached the High Court registrar’s office, sources said.

Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Panchakshari Math on Thursday informed the Lokayukta special court that a proposal will be sent to the HC registrar on accommodating the court hall on the third floor of Lokayukta offices at MS Building. Special court judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao asked if the proposed hall at MS Building was suitable. The SPP said the MS Building’s Lokayukta office block has two entrances and a separate entrance can also be provided through KAT (Karnataka Administrative Tribunal) side.

After the March 2 violence between advocates and media at the City Civil Court, the HC ordered the shifting to Parappana Agrahara prison on March 9. Home minister R. Ashok proposed shifting . The Advocates’ Association of Bangalore (ABB) had stated that they had proposed holding hearing of only sensitive cases at the court halls near Parappana Agrahara prison premises. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, SPP-Lokayukta Panchakshari Math said the proposal has been sent and a decision in this regard will be taken by the HC in consultation with the Lokayukta special court judge.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
