Killer driver traced to Mumbai ashram
The Banaswadi traffic police have finally managed to track the mobile phone call log of the killer SUV woman driver and establish her current location. According to ACP-Traffic (East) Mr Venkatswamy, the accused Manjula who had been evading the police for nearly a week, is holed up in an ashram in Mumbai. The city police have sent out a special team to arrest her from Mumbai. “One of my officers had spoken to her over the phone. She admitted that she was in Mumbai in an ashram and was evading the police as she was afraid,” said the ACP.
Police are confident of arresting her in a day or two. “Only after we arrest her can we go ahead with the investigation,” an officer attached to the East traffic division told Deccan Chronicle. The entire division was on Manjula’s trail who was absconding after she ran over some labourers sleeping on the footpath, killing one person, in a sports utility vehicle.
