‘Kidnapped’ Ex-MP’s daughter quizzed
Vishnu Vandana (47), the daughter of former Koppal MP Mr H.G. Ramulu, who was allegedly ‘kidnapped’, was brought back to the city on Wednesday by the Jayanagar police for questioning. A day after she was mysteriously ‘kidnapped’, she was traced at the Chennai Central Railway Station on Tuesday evening.
Police said their investigation has been hampered as Vishnu Vandana was making contradictory statements. According to sources, she was giving various versions about the incident. “Initially, she said she was kidnapped by an unidentified man and woman in a four-wheeler and they took her in a bus to Chennai. But later, she said there was only a woman and that she was hypnotized by her. She told the police that she did not realize she was being kidnapped and that only after she got to Chennai that she realized she was kidnapped.
Her explanation about her phone calls to her husband when she was allegedly abducted was also vague. When police questioned her asked her about how she was able to make phone calls to her husband, she said the kidnappers took away her phone, but gave it to her whenever she wanted. Police also found that she had bought bus ticket to Chennai which they recovered from her wallet. Some jewels and cash in the wallet, which were intact. Vandana also reportedly gave her family members a different version. A family source said she was kidnapped and the abductors left her in Chennai after the news broke out in the media However, police are not convinced by her versions and will interrogate her further.
