Hegde hits back at BSY
Hitting out against former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, Justice Santosh Hegde rubbished the claims of Mr Yeddyurappa as a statement from somebody who is cornered and is running out of options. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the former Lok Ayukta, who had indicted Mr Yeddyurappa over illegal mining in the state said, ”Even with his own partymen turning their backs on him, he is running out of people to accuse. He feels cornered and this why he is making such false statements.” Earlier, BSY hit out against his own partyman, MP Ananth Kumar for poisoning the minds of BJP central leaders such as L.K.Advani and for deliberately putting the Lok Ayukta on him. “Till today I have never met Ananth Kumar and I have never spoken to him. On the allegations that his investigations were fuelled by support from BJP senior leader L.K.Advani, he said, “I have never spoken to Mr Advani, but on the date I put in my papers as Lok Ayukta in July 2011, he called me twice and requested me take back the resignation. I obliged, but after that I have never spoken to him.”
Recently, state government pointed out that former Lok Ayukta had not suggested any action against three former CMs of Karnataka, on mining irregularities. “In a matter pertaining to Mr Krishna, the names of officers and the forest minister were mentioned in the report. But Dharam Singh’s name was mentioned to the Governor and he never took action. Investigations against HDK are still on” he said
