Haven’t fallen out with BSY: Shobha
Energy minister Shobha Karandlaje on Tuesday spiked reports about fallout with her mentor and former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, she brushed aside the reports saying, “My face-off with Mr Yeddyurappa or disgruntlement over the choice of a new leader are all only rumours, and concerted efforts to malign me. I was away on a personal tour to Manas Sarovar and Kailash. I was not even following political developments in the state,” she added.
Voicing her expectations about the new government for the first time, the minister said she was confident that the new leader of the legislature party would pursue the path laid by Mr Yeddyurappa in terms of development. She expected the new government to fast-track developmental projects as the government had almost reached the fag end of its tenure. “Development should now get faster. As it is an election year, it is important we focus more on departments that come in direct contact with the common man and address issues like drinking water, farmers’ problems and power crisis. After my interaction with the people, I personally feel the revenue department is most neglected and needs better focus,” she added.
