Gowda in hospital
Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda was admitted to the city based Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research on Monday evening with complaints of fluctuation in blood pressure. The Janata Dal (Secular) president, the 78-year-old Mr Gowda was brought in to Jayadeva at around 7 pm. “He was admitted with complaints of fatigue and exhaustion. He suffers from chronic diabetes,” said C.N. Manjunath, director, Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research.
“His condition is stable, there is nothing to worry about. But we have kept him in the hospital as we await the results of the tests we have conducted,” Mr Manjunath, Mr Gowda’s son-in-law, said. Insiders said the Vokkaliga patriarch who commands respect in the political community, would be kept under close medical supervision.
