Gang’s toy gun trick fails to fire

A group of three miscreants allegedly tried to loot a finance company with a toy gun, but their plan backfired after the alert manager raised an alarm and the public came to the rescue. The K.R. Puram police arrested one of the miscreants who attempted to rob cash and other valuables from Kosamattam Finance Company on T.C. Palya Road on Wednesday. According to the police, Veeresh had gone to the finance company on Wednesday on the pretext of enquiring about loan schemes. After a few minutes, two of his accomplices joined him and the trio barged into the manager Sridevi’s cabin. They then threatened her with a toy gun and forced her to give the keys to the locker.

The alert manager however sounded the siren and the other staff and public present there immediately rushed to the spot. They managed to catch hold of one person while two other miscreants escaped. After thrashing him back and blue, they had handed him over to the police. “We have registered a case and are interrogating him, and will arrest the other two accused soon. It looks like they are first-time offender, but only a detailed investigation will bring out all the facts”, said the investigating officer.
