Gang hacks youth to death
A 24-year-old college dropout was hacked to death by his friends-turned-rivals in Koramangala 8th Block near Anjaneya Temple on Monday evening. The victim has been identified as Purushotham, a resident of Lakshmananagar in Adugodi. He was student of Reddy College and had discontinued education after joining the first-year B.Com course after he started working at a local bakery.
According to police, around 7.30 pm, Purushotham and his friend Karthik were on riding his two-wheeler when a gang of four suddenly stopped his bike and attacked him. Both abandoned the vehicle and ran for their lives. While Karthik managed to escape, the gang chased Purushotham and attacked him with lethal weapons. Purshotam kept running till he collaposed near the Bethany School, hardly 200 meters from Kormangala police station, and died. Police suspect that the four attackers were friends-turned-foes and had attacked Purshotam to settle an old score.
