Fun time turns fatal for woman

A 24-year-old woman accidentally slipped and fell from the third floor of the CPWD quarters in BTM 1st Stage near KAS Layout on Saturday night. Madivala police identified the deceased as Moksha Nanaiah, a native of Kodagu, who was working at Northern Trust Bank as an analyst and was living along with her brother Aiyappa in Mico Layout police limits.

According to police, Moksha had gone to visit a family friend, Kallapa (26), son of Apachu, a native of Kodagu, on Saturday. Kalapa, who works with Accenture, had been living along with a friend Nithin for the last three months at the CPWD quarters. Nithin is a customs stenographe with CPWD. Nithin had gone to his hometown for the weekend and so Moksha decided to meet Kalapa at his residence.

Around 6:30 pm, both of them started drinking and some time between 10 pm and 11 pm, they went out to the terrace. Some time later, Kalapa went down to the house to keep back their drinking glasses, but when Moksha tried to get down from a ladder kept on the terrace to access the overhead tank, she accidentally fell to the ground floor and died on the spot. Moksha’s family members were informed, who, in turn, alerted the police and her body was shifted to Victoria Hospital.

“We have registered a case of unnatural death. Preliminary investigation revealed that it was an accident. Since the building did not have a proper staircase and the iron ladder on the terrace was not even attached to the overhead tank and was haphazardly placed, she lost balance in an inebriated state and fell down. Initial reports said it was an accident and there were no sexual allegations. We are waiting for the FSL report to confirm if the girl was under the influence of alcohol. Her family members also did not blame any person for the incident,” said Madivala police. The autopsy was done at Victoria Hospital on Sunday morning following which the body was handed over the parents.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
