‘Detractors beware, I will change’
“My detractors will rush back to me and seek my forgiveness. I will never go to them, but my transformation in the coming days will compel them to come rushing to me,” said former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, while speaking during the 105th birthday celebration of Siddaganga Math seer Sri Shivakumaraswamiji in Bengaluru here on Sunday.
Stopping short of taking names, Yeddyurappa sounded a warning to all his detractors saying, “Some people have been intolerant of my growing popularity and have tried to malign me. To some extent, they might have succeeded in it. However, they will soon realize their folly and come to me, as I will be a changed man now. Although I had the mandate of the people of Karnataka, some evil forces conspired against me and pulled me down. They will repent for what they have done.”
Upset over the rumours of him joining the Congress, he said, “I will never go to the doorstep of my enemies. They are free to come to me. I have faced opposition at every step but I always aspired to make Karnataka the No.1 state in the country. But I was not given that opportunity,” he rued Yeddyurappa attributed his success to Siddaganga Swamiji and said, “The swamiji should be given credit for my rise in politics.”
