‘Crusader’ fabricates papers to claim govt compensation
A girl, all of two years old, was granted five acres of prime government land at Lingadheeranahalli, while another boy, aged five, got four acres at the same village. There is more: One acre of prime land was allotted to V. Panchalingaiah when he was just 14 years old. All the transactions took place in the family of V. Panchalingaiah, a self-proclaimed crusader who fought against the road construction project of Nandi Infrastructure Cor-ridor Enterprise (NICE).
Mr G.N. Sadananda Swamy, who has filed a private complainant against Mr Panchalingaiah in the 23rd Additional City Civil court, alleged that Mr Panchalingaiah fabricated the documents to claim huge compensation and residential sites from the government. Mr Swamy has presented the voter identity cards to prove the age of the accused and the illegalities involved in the transaction. He has revealed that Mr Panchalingaih colluded with tahsildars and other government officials and tampered with government documents to enter his and his family members’ names in the records.
Explaining the misadventure, Mr Swamy said the BDA issued a preliminary notification for land acquisition for Banashankari 6th Stage Layout in 2000-01. Allegedly to make a quick buck, Mr Panchalingaiah got the fake documents created in his, his sister Jayamma’s and in his brother-in-law’s names.
In all the three cases, it is Mr Panchalingaiah who has staked claim for the compensation. He has already taken Rs 90 lakh compensation and will also be the owner of nine sites, each with 60x40 sqft dimension.
As per the land grant rules, the minimum age for getting the government land sanctioned is 18 years with three years of farming experience. But Mr Panchalingaiah got the land allotted at survey number 64 of Hemmigepura to him when he was just 14 years as per the records, Mr Swamy said.
