Chaos on first day with new CET format

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) started the six day long option entry for admission round CET-2012 at 6 am but as the state higher education department didn’t send the seat matrix on time, it uploaded the engineering seat matrix only by 10 am, leaving many a student who had logged in early, anxious and perplexed. As rumours flew thick and fast, website jams and error messages created more panic among them.

KEA sources, however, claimed senior officers of the authority didn’t sleep Wednesday night and were at the office till Thursday evening to ensure smooth functioning of the website. “But as thousands of students logged in at the same time the server become a ittle slow. And as the seat matrix was uploaded a little late there was some confusion,” admitted a senior officer, however, urging students not to panic as they had six days to upload their entries. "There is no need for any confusion. If you can’t log in today they try tomorrow. Whenever any government department tries something new these problems do surface. Students must be patient and all their grievances will be solved,” he promised.

The students' frustration also stemmed from the fact that three prestigious colleges -. BMS college of engineering, Bengaluru, BVB, Hubli and St.Joseph’s, Mangalore, have not surrendered their seats. “This means we will have to come back for a casual vacancy round if we want a seat in BMS college. This is really confusing ,” said Ramaprasad S R, a seat aspirant.

Sanjay Roy: Please open 10 links! 3 links are not enough! It's jamming everything!
I'm trying since morning 6 AM! It's not a joke, we people have almost spent TEN FULL HOURS in front of computer! We don't deserve such a pain!

Megha Khasnis KEA: This is really unprofessional. Thousands of students are trying to enter options only because you have announced that we can start doing it from 6am today. Even after I login, the option entry link is not enabled. Please enable the promised links ASAP.

Greeshma Swamy: haha...after enterin all options with such great difficulty, i get this Your session has timed out. Please login in again...

Rahila Ali: This is annoying. Been online for hours. And i still have'nt entered my options. Will this situation be the same till 18th, what if it doesnt load at all? We need to submit it before 18th.. Will it work before the deadline? :
Seema Gangadhar: I entered as many options as possible and clicked the save button.. Everything vanished showing Server is busy! Do something.. Its not working!

Vinay Kamble: This online stuff is just pathetic...... :@ These guys just keep on boasting about the facilitation. .. indeed are least bothered about maintainin it. Gettin up totally DOPE !
These and more comments filled the Internet as students aspiring for seats via the Common Entrance Test (CET) vented their frustration with the many hold-ups they encountered on the first day of option entry for admission round CET-2012, on Thursday.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
