BSY is still numero uno
Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa proved once again that he was the numero uno in the state BJP as he went about doling out promises and issuing instructions to government officials during his much touted state-wide tour which began from Tumkur on Tuesday.
By his side was Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar but the crowds which gathered to see and greet the former CM and pour out their woes, had hardly any time for the CM. Instead, it was BSY who hogged the limelight all the way, asking people what they expected from the government. “I am here to solve your problems, this is not a political campaign. You tell me what you want from the government”, he said as he visited farmers in drought hit areas of Tumkur.
The Lingayat strongman proved more than once that he was the defacto CM as visited a goshala at Kaidala. A group of farmers asked him to provide fodder and, drinking water facilities. Yeddyurappa turned to Shettar and asked him to release sufficient funds to solve the problems faced by the farming community to which the CM nodded in agreement. When a farmer, appealed to BSY to provide dinner for farmers who stay at Goshalas during the night, BSY issued quick fire instructions to Tumkur DC R.K. Raju asking him to look into the problem.
