BSY to resume ‘Janata Darshan’
Despite BJP president Nitin Gadkari’s overtures, former chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa has decided to take the first step towards distancing himself from the party by resuming ‘Janata darshan’ in his office immediately after the ongoing session of legislature. The former chief minister, who was persuaded by senior central leaders not to run a parallel establishment but use the office of the state unit, would return after a two-month gap to re-establish his contact with the aam admi and party workers. It would also help him to turn the pressure on leaders in New Delhi to accede to his demands—the most significant being appointment as president of the state unit—sources in the party told Deccan Chronicle.
The sources said the leader would make the most of conditions imposed by the high court while granting him bail to meet as many people in his office. He, however, would embark on a state-wide tour after the Supreme Court decides on the CBI’s application opposing the conditional bail granted by the high court, the sources added.
