BSY in new land denotification case
One more complaint was filed against ex-Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and minister for housing V. Somanna and others before the Lokayukta special court on Thursday. The complainant, Yogendra H., an advocate, stated that BSY as CM, de-notified 30 guntas of land which was later bought by Somanna’s son. The complainant also listed Somanna’s wife Shylaja and his son B.S. Naveen as accused in the case of de-notification of land at Nagadevanahalli in Kengeri hobli, in use as a playground at VSS Educational Trust compound.
The complainant stated that the land belonged to one Devegowda and his sons had created a partition deed after his death. The land in survey number 77 was acquired for the creation of Jnanabharathi Layout. Deve Gowda’s wife Lingamma filed an application before then CM BSY seeking denotification. In spite of objections by BDA, BSY de-notified the land on ‘humanitarian grounds’ on August 8, 2010 and on October 11, 2010, the land was sold to B.S. Naveen.
