BSY flogs LK blog
Taking umbrage at the BJP patriarch L.K. Advani’s blog about “bungling” by the party in Karnataka, former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has hit back, telling the leader that such statements would only help the Opposition to take advantage of the situation when elections to the Legislative Assembly were round the corner. “So far as the BJP is concerned, the bungling in Karnataka notwithstanding, all recent public opinion surveys clearly reveal that the principal beneficiary of the Congress Party’s fast eroding reputation continues to be the BJP...” Mr Advani wrote in his blog.
Perceiving himself as the target of Mr Advani’s comments, the former chief minister has written to the leader, stating that such negative comments would wear down the confidence of party workers while helping the Congress and Janata Dal (S) gain political mileage. While offering to “explain the BJP’s political prospects in Karnataka,” the former chief minister has attempted to gain sympathy for himself by reminding the leader how he was forced to step down on charges of corruption despite leading the party to victory in several polls from Lok Sabha to local bodies-with the help of policies and programmes launched by his government.
