3 babus in Lokayukta net
The Lokayukta sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on the residences of three government officials on allegations that they possessed assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. The raids were conducted and cases were registered against Rathnakar Naik, Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies, Chikmagalur, G. Rajagopal, ATPO, Mangalore City Corporation, and L.C Veeresh, Revenue Inspector, Kuskur Circle, Anekal taluk.
In case of Ratnakar Naik, police found that he possessed three acres land at Ujire worth Rs 60,000, 23 cents land at Ujire worth Rs 1,45,000, a house at Ujire worth Rs 25 lakh, flat at Bejai-Kapikad worth Rs 9,11,000, Maruthi Swift car (KA 21 M 7030) worth Rs 6,40,000, 350 grams of gold worth Rs 9 lakh, four bank accounts with Rs 4,88,170, medical college expenses of Rs 18 lakh and Rs 88,600 in cash. Altogether, the police recovered assets worth Rs 69,56,770 from him. The Lokayukta police also raided two properties belonging to G. Rajagopal.
They found that he had 3.35 cents land at Kadri worth Rs 70,000, three cents land at Kadri worth Rs 1,25,000, house at Mallikatta worth Rs 25 lakh, shopping complex at Mallikatta worth Rs 5 lakh, land in Bengaluru worth Rs 7,80,000. He also possessed movable assets like a Maruthi Swift car (KA 19 MB 2006) worth Rs 4,78,145, Tata Indica car (KA 19 P 1739) worth Rs 3,65,390, Honda City car worth Rs 9 lakh, Corporation Bank account with Rs 5,24,000, 187 grams of gold worth Rs 6,23,000, five bank accounts with Rs 2,05,054, 450 grams of silver ornaments worth Rs 25,000 and medical college expenses of Rs 15 lakh. Altogether, they recovered property worth Rs 85,95,589.
The sleuths also raided two premises belonging to Revenue Inspector L.C. Veeresh. He possessed a house in Nagarabhavi worth Rs 37,00,000, a house in Meenakshinagar in Kamakshipalya worth Rs 30,00,000, and another house in Meenakshipalya 5th Main worth Rs 10,00,000. He also owned 10.5 acres of agricultural land in Devanahalli worth Rs 1,32,000, a site in Yeshwantpur worth Rs 1,16,320 and agricultural land in different parts of the city. The bank accounts and lockers all the three officers are being inspected and further investigations are on.
