28-year-old dies of cardiac arrest while riding a bike
A 28-year-old Infosys software engineer who was on his way to work in Electronic City died after he suffered a cardiac arrest while riding his bike. The techie, who tried to slow down, fell off his vehicle and was immediately attended to by the staff of a nearby bar and restaurant. He was shifted to a private hospital where he was declared brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Sharana Basappa, a resident of Basavanagudi, who hailed from Dharwad.
He developed pain in the chest while riding along the service road on Hosur Main Road between Naganathapura and Manipal County junction, but was unable to bring his motorbike to a halt, fell off the bike and started frothing. The staff of the ECT Bar and Restaurant, who rushed to his help, suspected it was a paralytic attack and gave him keys and some iron objects to hold. The doctors at the private hospital asked them to shift to Narayana Hrudayalaya, but by then he had died. It is suspected that Mr Basappa died of cardiac arrest, said Electronics City traffic police. The body was shifted to the Victoria hospital mortuary for autopsy. The deceased is survived by his wife and a young child. The exact cause of the death can be ascertained after the autopsy, police said.
