2-yr-old falls from apartment, dies

In a tragic incident, a two-year-old boy died after he slipped and fell from the second floor apartment in Vijaya Bank Layout under the Mico Layout police limits on Monday afternoon. The police identified the deceased boy as G. Poorvaja, son of Giri Babu and Lakshmi Neelima. Giri Babu is working as a software professional with Honeywell, while Lakshmi Neelima is a housewife.

The police said that around 1.30 pm on Monday afternoon, Poorvaja had gone along with his mother to their neighbour Sapna Kiran Kumar’s house on the same floor. While both women were chatting, Poorvaja was playing with Sapna’s son Kaushal (4). The ball they were playing with fell out of the balcony. Poorvaja tried to stop the ball. He put his head through the grills that had four-inch gap and slipped. Kaushal rushed inside the room and informed the two women. But by the time they came to the boy’s rescue, he had fallen down. He was immediately shifted to Fortis Hospital, where he died around 3.30 pm while undergoing treatment. The hospital staff informed the Mico Layout police, who registered a case of unnatural death.
